Privacy policy
MoveHoot is a pre-launch service. Right now the only personal data we collect is what you give us when you join the waitlist or send a business enquiry. This page explains what that is and how we treat it.
Contact
MoveHoot is operated from the United Kingdom. For anything to do with your data, email [email protected]. Our registered details are at the foot of this page.
What we collect
- Email address, which you enter into the waitlist form.
- Your role if you choose one: looking for a home, letting or selling, or agent.
- Which form you used, the signup time, the country your request came from, your IP address and browser type, so we can see what is working and block abuse.
If you use the business enquiry form, we also collect your name, organisation, work email, the type of enquiry and your message, solely to reply to you. We keep business enquiries for up to 24 months unless a conversation continues beyond that.
Beyond that, we do not collect your name, address, phone number or payment details. We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site.
Why we collect it
To tell you when MoveHoot launches and to invite you to early access. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
Where it is stored
Submissions are handled by our own code and stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site and acts as our processor under its privacy policy. Alongside each submission we record the time, the country it came from, your IP address and your browser type. We keep these to detect and block spam and abuse, under our legitimate interest in running the service securely, and for no other purpose.
Who we share it with
No one. We do not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone outside the processors we need to run the waitlist.
How long we keep it
Until MoveHoot launches and you have had the chance to create an account, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. If we abandon the project, we will delete the list.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we will act within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find MoveHoot and which parts of the site they use. It only sets cookies if you choose Accept on the banner. If you decline, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that sends anonymous, aggregated signals and cannot identify you or follow you between visits. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back.
If you arrive from a link that carries campaign tags (for example from a social post or advert), we record those tags with your form submission so we know which channel brought you here. This is stored with your submission only, not in a cookie.
Your dark-mode preference and your cookie choice are kept in your browser's local storage and never leave your device.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. When the full MoveHoot app launches it will have its own, more detailed policy.
